If you don’t want a wedding setup that’s a stressful disaster, avoid these time-consuming mistakes:

1️⃣ Wire table number holders – The slightest breeze or table bump, and they’re down. If you want guests to find their seats or read your signs without playing hide-and-seek, go for something sturdy.

2️⃣ Flimsy arches – Let’s be real: these cheap arches are not meant to hold anything but balloons. The weight of real florals will bring them crashing down, and instead of an elegant backdrop, you’ll have a deflated, droopy disaster.

3️⃣ Tiny, flimsy easels – They’ll collapse faster than your patience. Don’t risk your welcome sign face-planting before guests even arrive.

4️⃣ Paper card boxes – If you enjoy chasing wedding cards across the venue, go ahead. Otherwise, get something solid that won’t blow away.

We had a visitor today!

What do you know? Test your knowledge of wedding venues in Ventura County.🤔

1. What does this badge represent?

2. Why is it important for a venue in the non-coastal parts of Ventura County and outside city boundaries to have one?

3. How does this apply to you if you are planning a wedding in the non-coastal area and outside any city jurisdiction in Ventura County?
🤓🤓🤓

1. It represents the fact that a venue has met all the conditions from the County to operate as a venue with a Conditional Use Permit, or CUP. The conditions include important things, such as safety measures and the commitment to abide in a myriad of ways to operate that are respectful to the surrounding community.

2. A non-permitted venue is allowed to have no more than 5 larger events (over 75 guests) per year and are not allowed to be compensated for the use of the venue. (That means they can’t charge you for.)

3. We post this in the hope that you will be able to protect yourself from being one of the couples who is contacted out of the blue by their venue, informing you they are immediately shutting down the venue you have been planing an event for.

The permitted venues are receiving daily inquires from heartbroken couples who are planning weddings for as soon as next month! What most likely happened, is that Ventura County Code Compliance required the venue to close until the venue is able to complete and approve a CUP through the County Planning Department. This generally takes a minimum of 24 months, but could take much longer, or not even be viable option, if neighbors have already been suffering from the noise, traffic, and safety issues created when a venue is opened without a permit. Code Compliance let us know back in March they had located 60 un-permitted venues.

1. It represents the fact that a venue has met all the conditions from the County to operate as a venue with a Conditional Use Permit, or CUP. The conditions include important things, such as safety measures and the commitment to abide in a myriad of ways to operate that are respectful to the surrounding community.

2. A non-permitted venue is allowed to have no more than 5 larger events (over 75 guests) per year and are not allowed to be compensated for the use of the venue. (That means they can’t charge you for.)

3. We post this in the hope that you will be able to protect yourself from being one of the couples who is contacted out of the blue by their venue, informing you they are immediately shutting down the venue you have been planing an event for.

The permitted venues are receiving daily inquires from heartbroken couples who are planning weddings for as soon as next month! What most likely happened, is that Ventura County Code Compliance required the venue to close until the venue is able to complete and approve a CUP through the County Planning Department. This generally takes a minimum of 24 months, but could take much longer, or not even be viable option, if neighbors have already been suffering from the noise, traffic, and safety issues created when a venue is opened without a permit. Code Compliance let us know back in March they had located 60 un-permitted venues.
